Hello! I'm Maggie (she/her).
When you hold my work in your hands, it touches you back. I believe art doesn’t have to be a special occasion, but is a necessary part of every day. I named this business when I was 18 in memory of my Auntie Shari who introduced me to artists’ markets and surrounded herself with all things handmade. Shari's Tree is an extension of her love of art and creative expression.
My needled-felted sculptures are made with ethically sourced wool that I shape using special notched needles that interlock the fibers as I sculpt, transforming loose wool roving into a solid shape. My goal with Shari’s Tree is to create colorful, textural art that brings joy and life into every day spaces. It seems that by just looking around me, I never lack for inspiration.
In business, it is my mission to promote diverse and divergent experiences by supporting BIPOC, LGBTQIA2s+, and women owned businesses and organizations, and to place community, kindness, and empathy above all else.
